All are invited to come out for the 1st Annual Donut Dash 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run this Saturday morning at the Olney IGA, sponsored by the Richland County Farm Bureau Young Leader’s. The Olney Public Library will host a Princess Party / Story Time this Saturday afternoon at 1:00 with Miss Richland County Fair Queen Samantha Trout. While dressing up like a princess is not required, it is encouraged. There will be light refreshments & treat bags for the children. All are invited out to take part.
The HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital’s Women’s Wellness Event is this coming Thursday evening from 4:30 to 7:00 at the Keller Convention Center in Effingham. The free event will feature informational displays about services available with gift bags, door prizes, and more. The Clay City Fire Department will have a Family Fun Day / Open House this Saturday with the serving of all-you-can-eat catfish meals from 11:00 to 2:00. All for a donation at the door and carry-outs available, plus three free inflatables for the kids. Also at the Clay City Firehouse on Saturday, the Clay City Civics Organization will have its Fall Festival Fundraising Auction, starting at 2:30, rescheduled from the rainout back in September. The Ridgway Chapter of the Illinois Audubon Society will have its monthly meeting tonight at the First Presbyterian Church, at 227 East Elm Street in Olney, beginning at 7:00. Tonight’s special program will be presented by EIU graduate Paul Barding, a lifelong birder and environmental expert from Casey, including details about his 2017 trip to Costa Rica and a 2014 trip to tropical Trinidad and Tobago. Plus if you’re tired of those pigeons and sparrows at your bird feeders, the public is welcome to attend tonight.
