The “Designs of Duty” exhibit featuring East Central Illinois Veterans and their service-related tattoos continues on display at the Olney Public Library, from now thru this coming Friday, September 28. The “Design of Duty” exhibit tells the stories of seven military Veterans who served our country over a 45 year period throughout Asia and Europe. It’s the final few days for the exhibit at the Olney Public Library.

The St. Thomas Gigantic Garage Sale is coming up at the Parish Center in Newton. This Thursday and Friday from 8:00 to 6:00 each day and Saturday morning from 8:00 to 11:00. Donations of gently used clothing, house wares, home décor items, shoes, toys, books, purses, belts, backpacks, and more can be dropped off from 8:00 to 6:00 tomorrow or from 8:00 to 4:00 Wednesday. The Richland County Republican Central Committee will be hosting an “Open House” at their campaign headquarters tomorrow night from 6:00 to 8:00. It will be a great chance to meet with and hear from the local Republican candidates and elected officials, plus a chance to pick up the yard signs for the upcoming November 6th election. Refreshments will be available. So make plans to stop by the Republican headquarters for the “Open House” tomorrow night at 225 East Main Street in Olney.
