(NEWTON) The Jasper County Solid Waste Program is continuing this week. The weekday morning dumpsters will be available from 7:30 to 12:00 noon each day. That’s tomorrow, Tuesday (8/7/18), at the Wheeler site, on Wednesday (8/8/18) at the West Liberty location, and on Thursday (8/9/18) at the Rose Hill site. The Newton site, at the County Highway Garage Building, is open Saturday from 7:00 to 3:30.

This evening (8/6/18) from 4:00 to 6:00 at the Foodliner in Beecher City, Wednesday (8/8/18) evening from 4:00 to 6:00 at the Altamont Grade School, and Friday (8/10/18) evening from 4:30 to 6:30 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Robinson. The Ramblin’ Rose offers free basic school supplies, plus clothing for children in grades K thru 12, serving the area counties of Jasper, Cumberland, Crawford, Clark, Effingham, Fayette, and Shelby. Here’s the upcoming area blood drives : today (8/6/18) at the Christian Church Annex in Mason from 2:00 to 6:00 : Wednesday (8/8/18) at the Altamont Grade School from 12:00 to 5:00 : also Wednesday (8/8/18) at the YMCA in Mattoon from 2:00 to 6:00 : and the next Jasper County blood drive is Thursday (8/9/18) afternoon at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Newton from 1:00 to 6:00 : all blood types and platelets are very much needed to replenish low blood supplies, especially type “O”.
