(OLNEY) in Girls High School Track last Friday – the Sam Bennett Invitational was held at Robinson –
Newton beat out second place Teutopolis, 109 to 94.50 – host Robinson was third with 84.50 points
* Cumberland was fourth (43), then Paris (39), Olney (36), Cowden-Herrick (28), and Red Hill (25.50)
* Brownstown/St. Elmo was ninth (24), then Palestine-Hutsonville (19.50) and Shelbyville (18)
Olney had four top three finishes out of the eighteen total events
* Tara Hughes was 2nd in the high jump
* Leah Snyder was 2nd in the shot put
* Maria Mayorga, Danni Murphy, Hope Laughlin, and Cameron Hough were 3rd in the 1600 meter relay
Newton had nine top three finishers out of the eighteen total events
* Alex Haarman, Ana Rodriquez, Brooklyn Herman, and Abby Stone won the 400 meter relay
* Mikala Haarman, Alex Haarman, Emma Weber, and Brooklyn Herman won the 800 meter relay
* Brooklyn Herman won the 100 meter dash and was 2nd in the 200 meter dash
* Abby Stone won the 800 meter run
* Alex Haarman was 2nd in the 100 meter dash and was 3rd in the 200 meter dash
* Emma Weber, Claire Carr, Madison Phillips, and Abby Stone were 2nd in the 3200 meter relay
* Ana Rodriquez was 2nd in the 400 meter dash
Olney returns to action tomorrow at the Mattoon Invitational
Newton is back in action at the Lady Tigers Relays in Olney later this week on Friday
