(OLNEY)  in junior college baseball – OCC won their season opening doubleheader Saturday in Tennessee  :
* the Blue Knights beat Roane State, 5-3  :  the winning pitcher was Myles Scott, with T.J. Hill picking up a save  :  top hitters were Kollin Dowdy, Derek Peterson, Jarret Young, & Trevor McCarthy
* the Blue Knights beat Roane State, 8-0  :  the winning pitcher was Jaden Widdersheim  :  OCC’s top hitters were Jeremy Cline, Casey Robinson, Derek Peterson, Russ Morse, & Kollin Dowdy
* while rained out yesterday & Sunday, the Blue Knights play a doubleheader today against Cumberlands College down in Williamsburg, Kentucky

* Class 1A Super-Sectional @ Salem  :  Cowden-Herrick / Beecher City beat Goreville, 57-46
* Class 2A Super-Sectional @ Salem  :  Breese Central beat Pana, 48-44

(NEWTON)  in mens college basketball – Illinois is in Columbus, Ohio to battle the Buckeyes tonight in another Big Ten battle – Ohio State will be looking to avenge a loss earlier this year to the Fighting Illini at the Assembly Hall in Champaign, but Illinois is on a five game skid – the Buckeyes enter tonight’s game with an overall record of 22&5, 10&4 in the Big Ten – Illinois enters at 16&11 overall, 5&9 in the league

(OLNEY)  Olney Tigers regional tickets go on sale today & tomorrow at the ERHS Office  :  for parents of ball players & cheerleaders this morning from 8:30 to 9:15  :  for ERHS students & faculty from 9:15 to 10:00  :  and for the general public from 10:00 to 3:00 today  :  then also tomorrow from 8:30 to 2:00  :  the doors at Fairfield High School will open at 5:00 tomorrow evening with the Tiger game at 6:00 tomorrow night – the gym will then be cleared after the Olney game before the second game that night and separate tickets must be purchased for that game, either at the door, if available, or in advance
